Fara asamblarea corespunzatoare a cauzelor, efectul mantuirii nu se poate produce.

Cauzele sunt de doua feluri: cauze principale si cauze secundare .

In crestinism cauzele principale sunt invataturile si jertfa Lui Hristos.

Cauzele secundare sunt nevointele virtuoase personale, in acord cu invatatura evanghelica.

The need to purify limitless evil collected in previous lives

Buddha taught that a single moment of evil leads to rebirth in the lowest hell for many aeons.

If we neglect to use the four opponent powers and purify those evils that we have committed since beginningless time,
is there any need for us to speak of our failing to be reborn in the happy realms of existence?

Shantideva said in "Bodhisattva way of life":

Now that I have obtained this precious human life,
if I do not practise virtue but instead solely commit non- virtue,
I shall be reborn in the depths of hell.
My body will blaze for an immeasurable length of time amidst unbearable flames.

At such a time is it not inevitable that my mind will also be consumed by overwhelming regret?
