Din fericire stim ce au folosit pentru ca ne spun chiar Evanghelistii: paine.

Marcu 14:12, Luca 22:7, Matei 26:17.

Stim ca asa era si Traditia chiar si de la catolici, acestia folosind doar paine (sau prescuri) la Roma pana in preajma schismei.

Exact inversul este adevărat. Răsăritenii au folosit, la început, pâine nedospită. Aceea dospită era folosită uneori. Sfinţii Părinţi au crezut mereu că Domnul Isus a folosit pânie nedospită (azimi) şi nici măcar unul nu afirmă contrariul, după cum nici măcar unul nu afirmă erezia cerulariană că Duhul Sfânt purcede numai de la Tatăl.

Iată ce spune Sf Grigore Teologul, patriarh al Constantinopolelui, doctor şi învăţător al Bisericii: there is none to hinder us from keeping a Feast to the Lord our God--the Feast of our Departure; or from celebrating that Feast, not in the old leaven of malice and wickedness, but in the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth, carrying with us nothing of ungodly and Egyptian leaven. This it is that rescues from the power of darkness and transfers us into the Kingdom of the Son of God.
